Chain or Chainless?

At Dynamic Bicycles, we believe no one technology is perfect for every bicycle. This includes chains. So although we have standardized on the Shimano family of internal gear hubs on our bikes, we offer bicycles with both chain drive and shaft drive. From our perspective, we know that although chains have certain advantages for certain types of bicycles, chainless technology makes a lot more sense for other types of bicycles.

For instance, for our road and touring bicycles - where versatility and performance are most important - we use a chain drive. This enables our customers to have more flexibility to customize the gear range to match their riding style and terrain. It also offers more flexibility in styles and types of cranksets and wheelsets to match customer price points and performance expectations.

Conversely, for our hybrid, cruiser and folding bike models, our innovative Shaft Drive System offers greater simplicity, reduced maintenance, easier handling, and cleaner operation than a chain drive would. No other bikes in these categories can offer more convienence than the shaft drive.

Which means we won't put any innovation on a bike unless it helps to reduce complexity and reduce maintenance.
